Hey everyone š
I just put out DemoShop Nuvi, a free, open-source e-commerce template built on Next.js 16.4 with the nuvui component library. The idea was a store that feels like a boutique: warm ivory pages, serif headlines, big photography, a bag that slides in from the side, and full dark mode.

What's in it
- Home, collections with filters and sorting, product pages with a gallery and size picker, search, a bag drawer and page, an "our story" page and policies
- A currency switcher in the header (USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, JPY), where every price rolls over to the new currency with an animated number
- SEO done properly: per-page metadata, generated OG images, a sitemap with images, JSON-LD for products, breadcrumbs, collections and the FAQ, and real 404s
- A strict nonce-based CSP, validated input everywhere, and keyboard-friendly menus and drawers
Why Next.js 16.4 made this fun
Honestly, this is the smoothest Next.js I've built with.
- Cache Components are great. I mark the catalog reads with
"use cache"and stop thinking about it. Pages prerender a static shell and stream the rest in. - The dev overlay is genuinely helpful. It caught every place I read
paramsoutside a<Suspense>boundary and told me exactly why that would slow down navigation. A few skeletons later, every click feels instant, and the HTML still has the full page for search engines. proxy.tsmade the nonce CSP and real 404 status codes for unknown products a few lines each.- Typed routes + Turbopack mean I catch broken links at build time, and the dev server is fast enough that I never wait on it.
Why nuvui
Every bit of UI in the store is a nuvui component, from the mega menu and carousels to the drawers, accordions and the animated price numbers. Theming is all design tokens, so getting the whole luxury look, light and dark, came down to a single theme file instead of fighting component styles. I really enjoy building with it.
What's next
This is the first of a few templates I'm building with Next.js and nuvui, and more are coming soon. I'd love any feedback on the design, performance or accessibility, and if you build something from it, please share it! š
