The steady decline of this product and the quality it outputs

Product Quality Concerns - Feedback from a Senior UX Designer

I’ve experienced significant quality decline over the past month that’s impacting my ability to use this product effectively. Here are my main concerns:

Cost Transparency & Fairness

  • There’s no visibility into prompt costs, making it difficult to budget usage

  • Users are charged even when the model produces incorrect results

  • The current billing model creates perverse incentives where errors still generate revenue

Reliability Issues

  • Simple tasks now require multiple attempts and increased time investment

  • The overall experience has become frustrating and inefficient

  • These reliability problems prevent me from confidently introducing this tool to my team

Request for Focus Rather than adding new features, I’d recommend prioritizing:

  • Improving accuracy and reliability of existing functionality

  • Implementing transparent cost structures

  • Creating accountability mechanisms for incorrect outputs

As someone who wants to advocate for AI tools within my organization, I need a product that consistently delivers on its promises. The current trajectory makes that difficult to justify.

Hey man,

When it comes to prompt costs, generally the bigger the task you give it the more it’ll cost. I’m sure you know that but I think it’s just important to know when being precise with your wording is key so it doesn’t become confused and make mistakes which chews tokens.

It’s not ideal for users to be charged when they don’t get the correct result, but whether it codes what they want or not, it uses up energy (money) for the attempt. Right or wrong doesn’t matter - both cost the same. The intention is to code efficiently though. Just the way it is. On the bright side, users who write ‘better’ prompts will save money which is useful for businesses to keep their expenses lower.

Users still experience seemingly simple tasks stump the bot. It’s not perfect. It’ll be better as time goes on, but for right now it’s important to be proactive. You can change the wording, manually change the code yourself, send screenshots to make the bot understand easier etc.

Issues like these can definitely be frustrating because the prompts sometimes take multiple minutes to load.

If you’re having constant issues with v0 then feel free to try other developers AI software builders, but for me personally v0 is by far the best from what I’ve seen and used.

Ultimately, it seems the v0 team is growing which shows they have genuine good intentions to make v0 better and as I said, artificial intelligence will only get better. If you’re able to make it work now then eventually with tech advances plus your in-depth experience you’ll have a true irreplaceable skill.

You’ll be able to literally created anything online with your fingers or voice.

I also wanted to share some helpful v0 Community content as you continue to build on top of v0.

I recommend also sharing any chat links with us to share with the engineering team
