Hi everyone,
I'm looking for advice on the recommended v0/GitHub/Vercel setup.
I have two completely separate websites
A
B
These are meant to be entirely independent.
At one point, changes generated in one v0 project unexpectedly appeared in the other project. Prompts for pages like About, Privacy Policy, Contact, header/footer changes, etc., were applied to the wrong website.
We ended up having to:
- revert pull requests,
- roll back deployments,
- restore previous versions,
- and clean up a lot of unwanted changes.
To avoid this happening again, we disconnected the Git repositories from both Vercel projects.
Now v0 says:
"The repository was disconnected from the Vercel project. Connect a project to continue chatting."
So it seems we can't continue building in the existing project without reconnecting Git.
My questions are:
- Is Git required to continue working with an existing v0 project?
- What is the recommended setup for maintaining two completely independent websites?
- Should each website have:
- its own GitHub repository,
- its own Vercel project,
- and its own v0 project/chat?
- Is there any way to guarantee that changes from one project can never affect the other again?
I'd really appreciate any recommendations on the safest long-term workflow.
Thanks!
