I would like to share feedback regarding the handling of the introductory $5 credit when a user purchases prepaid credits. My account initially had the $5 introductory credit for testing the platform. I subsequently purchased paid credits because I intend to continue using Vercel for a larger ongoing project and I am willing to pay for my actual future usage. However, after purchasing the prepaid balance, the introductory $5 credit was no longer available. I understand from Support that the system automatically transitions the account to paid billing rules and that promotional testing allowances are not carried over or combined with paid balances. My concern is not about paying for genuine usage. I am happy to continue purchasing credits—$10, $20, $50, $100 or whatever is required according to actual usage. The issue is that, during the top-up/purchase flow, it was not sufficiently clear to me that purchasing prepaid credits would cause the existing introductory $5 credit to disappear or become unusable. I respectfully request that Vercel consider: Clearly displaying a warning before payment that any remaining promotional or introductory credit will expire or become unavailable after purchasing paid credits. Showing the promotional balance and paid balance separately during checkout. Requiring explicit confirmation before a promotional balance is forfeited. Where possible, allowing an unused introductory balance to remain available until its original expiry date. Reviewing whether affected users can receive restoration or equivalent credit where the consequence was not clearly disclosed during checkout. This would improve billing transparency and prevent users from unexpectedly losing an existing balance simply because they chose to add paid funds. I am continuing with Vercel and intend to pay for the resources my project actually uses. My request is simply that the transition from introductory credit to prepaid billing should be clearly disclosed before payment and should not create an unexpected loss for the customer.
