Unexpectedly High Cost for a Single Mini Model Request

Hi team,

I noticed something unusual in my billing today and wanted to ask for clarification.

I’ve been using getMini3 for all my requests, but one of my messages on Nov 23 at 03:58 PM was charged $1.01, which seems extremely high for a Mini-level model. Other Mini requests I made around the same time cost around $0.03–$0.25, which makes sense.

My questions:

  1. Is it possible that the system automatically switched to a more expensive model (like v0 Agent) even though I manually selected getMini3?

  2. Does any hidden process (UI rendering, agent steps, multi-stage tasks, etc.) trigger higher-cost models behind the scenes?

  3. How can I confirm which exact model was used for that specific request?

  4. How can I avoid such unexpectedly high charges in the future?

I want to continue using v0 heavily, but this kind of unexpected spike is concerning. Any help or clarification would be greatly appreciated!
