Updating a environment variable updates another variable with the same name in different environment

Hello,

I'm experiencing an issue when updating environment variables from the Vercel dashboard.

Whenever I update an environment variable for the Production environment, the environment variable with the same name in Preview is also updated automatically.

In the attached screenshot, you can see that both variables (Production and Preview) have the exact same "last updated" timestamp. I only made a single change through the Vercel dashboard—I didn't use the CLI or API—so it's impossible that I updated both simultaneously.

These are not shared environment variables. They are configured as separate variables for each environment, following the Vercel documentation.

Has anyone seen this behavior before, or is there something I might be missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having this problem as well, feels like a bug and is blocking my development and release process. Is there a workaround anyone has discovered?

FWIW, I was able to work around this using the CLI to update my env vars.

Came across this as I'm too having the same issues rotating credentials.

Totally unsure if it's actually writing over both the environment's secrets, or if it's just updating both environment secrets' updated timestamps. Seems really buggy either way.

Hope this is fixed soon as it's a pretty big flaw if it's actually writing over the different environment's secrets!
