Using Vercel domain for my Project hosted on Payload Cloud

Hello guys. I am having trouble getting my custom domain from vercel point to my payload project that is hosted on payload cloud.

According to the payload docs, I am suppose to add my custom domain name to the project on payload dashboard without the “http://”, “https://” or “/” , I also added the DNS record that was generated on my payload dashboard to the DNS list of my domain on my vercel dashboard and it is still not working. While adding the DNS record from payload, I was prevented from deleting the default A record in the DNS list on my vercel domain.

I’ve attached a screenshot of the error message I’m seeing for reference. It appears to indicate some sort of SSL error.

Hi @princeyeaboah, welcome to the Vercel Community!

Thanks for reaching out in the community. I’m sorry you are facing this issue.

If i understand it correctly, you’ve bought a domain on Vercel and want to point it to you Payload Cloud deployment?

Can you show the configuration in the Vercel and Payload dashboards?

Hello @anshumanb , you are correct, that is the exact problem I am having right now.

Here are screenshots from both my vercel and payload dashboard showing how I did the configurations.

Hi @princeyeaboah, thanks for confirming the issue.

The DNS propagation is almost done.

Can you share the documentation you followed?

From here, I see that the process can take up to 48 hours on Payload Cloud side.

Sure @anshumanb. here is the documentation I followed and it has been over 48hrs since I did the configuration. Honestly, I been struggling with this for the past 4 days.

Hi @princeyeaboah, sorry to hear it’s been that way.

I think your configuration is correct. I’d say contact the Payload Cloud team because the DNS propagation seems to be done by now. Maybe we are missing some intermediate step.
