V0.dev Interface Screenshot Appearing in My Prompts

Hi v0.dev Team & Community,

Quick question: I’ve noticed that when I write a follow up prompt in v0.dev, a screenshot of the v0.dev interface itself (the “What can I help you ship?” screen, community examples, etc.) sometimes gets referenced or included by the AI.

This is a bit confusing, and more importantly, it seems like v0.dev might then be using that interface screenshot to influence the actual design output of my landing page, which isn’t what I intend.

Is this a known thing, or does anyone have an idea why this might be happening and how to prevent it? It sometimes breaks my workflow when the design takes cues from the v0 UI instead of just my prompt.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Are you mentioning “v0.dev” in your prompts?

When you put a URL in the chat, v0 will fetch the contents and include a screenshot as context, and this could be a false positive if it thinks you’re adding a link

Gotcha, that makes perfect sense. So the URL or mentioning ‘v0.dev’ is what triggers it. Yep, that was exactly it.
