V0 has gotten insanely expensive

Up until now, I’ve been a huge Pro user of V0.
I’m not using it for my dayjob, but for side projects - but I still prompt a couple of hours a day, so I thought the 30 dollars I payed monthly was a fair price.

However, the new pricing model is insane.

2 days ago I got notified that my included Pro credits ran out - so I decided to pay an additional 30 dollar.
And guess what - today that 30 dollars ran out! AFTER 2 DAYS!

If this pricing model continues, I’ll end up paying around 300 dollars a month for V0 - and that is unacceptable. I’m incredibly disappointed of Vercel. If this doesn’t change, I’ll end my subscription and switch to a competitor.

I agree completely. When i started using v0 they updated the credits daily unlike lovable. This was great since you could just wait one day for the credits to renew and continue the project. Then i purchased premium and never ran out. Now i ran out of my included credits in one day… It really is the same as increasing the price x1000. Hopefully they will listen to all the negative feedback.

Yeah I heard they are bleeding customers. I understand they have to make money - but thy are taking a dump on their customers, effectively forcing them to switch.

I think raising prices are OK - and I would be ok to pay a little more than 30 bucks - but a 1000% price increase is not ok.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. Please keep in mind that there are now multiple models to choose from, each with varying rates of credit consumption.

  • The large model will burn through credits quickly and is best reserved for tasks that require advanced thinking and reasoning. I definitely don’t recommend using that one if your prompt doesn’t need the extra power.
  • The medium model is good for most everyday tasks. It’s a pretty safe default for most people, balancing credit use and power.
  • The small model can save you a lot for less complex scenarios. It can handle the little things quickly without using a lot of resources.

This guide has a lot of good tips that can help you maximize your credits as well:

Yeah i agree , all of my credits are now used up and currently i am topping up 10 dollars for a day now

I’ve been using v0.dev for a long time and built multiple projects under the original message-based model. Now, out of nowhere, I’m being shoved into a usage-based pricing structure I never agreed to. No heads-up, no consent, no opt-in—just a sudden switch that reeks of a bait-and-switch tactic.

Let me be clear: I did not sign up for this model, and changing the terms mid-use without user approval is not just unethical—it’s potentially illegal. If this isn’t reversed and my account returned to the original terms, I will be canceling my subscription and seriously exploring legal options. This is a textbook example of deceptive business practice, and I won’t stay quiet about it.

Do better. Fix this. Or lose your users.

Exactly. Very disappointing. Especially because you also pay for when V0 makes the same mistakes over and over again. It would feel more fair if prompts were free if they resulted in an error

Thanks for the advice. However, even on md model, I easily burn through 10-15 dollars a day. Thats simply way too much.

This is non sense. Even the smallest model consumes too much, and the quality is not good as it was before. I am going to pass to other options.
