v0 preview and deployment failures after duplicating chat to use the editor

I’m writing in the forum again, because opening a support case with the agent has not resolved on of my problems and it seems there is no other way than through the community to get in contact with an actual human.

Problem

I wanted to edit some code in the editor, which is not possible anymore for older chats/projects as it seems. It tells me to duplicate the chat.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Duplicate the chat to access the editor.
  2. Do some small changes in the code (only copy changing something to sign up for April to sign up for May because it is a new month).
  3. No preview can be shown (this happened twice now on different projects that no preview after duplicating to the new version can be shown).
  4. Then I try to deploy, it doesn’t work.
  5. It takes 3 iterations to actually deploy the duplicated chat as there are some dependency issues.
  6. When it deploys some things are still as they are but some things change visually quite a lot (super frustrating because I need to spend credit and rework those things).
  7. The worst part my actual copy changes are not reflected in the new deployment.
  8. Therefore I go in to the editor and do the changes again (save my changes). Click deploy (not possible/nothing happens).
  9. Then I refresh the page and all changes are gone.

I’m very frustrated about this and don’t know what to do about it now.

If you need my chat history, I’m free to share it here.

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had this experience.

Could you share a chat link here so we can pass onto the product team?

Immediate steps:

  • Export your current project as ZIP to preserve your work
  • Create a brand new v0 chat (not duplicated) and import the ZIP
  • This should restore preview, deploy, and editor functionality
  • For credit concerns, please contact support directly mentioning these platform bugs (Help)

@pawlean this is the link to the chat: https://v0.app/chat/deployment-build-error-QTTTcwuBZ0J

And regarding For credit concerns, please contact support directly mentioning these platform bugs ( Help ) –> this is the Agent correct? Because I never get in tough with someone from support actually, and get always stuck/frustrated with the Agent.

Thank you, Tom!

The best place to raise credit issues is indeed Help. What do you get stuck on?

@pawlean
This is where I get stuck. This is the answer from the Agent.

I understand you’d like a refund for your v0 credits. Unfortunately, v0 credits are non-refundable per our policy.

If you’re experiencing issues with the quality of outputs from v0, I’d recommend using the Feedback option below generated responses in the v0 chat to report any problems directly to the v0 engineering team.

Is there anything else I can help you with?

I’ll send you a DM!

Thank you again for sharing your feedback, the team are looking at this.
