v0 project and folder structure changes affecting deployment URLs

Hi,

Problem

I’m confused by the recent update to the project and folder structure in v0.

Current Behavior

  • Before: When I moved a chat to a different project, the URLs of that project were used for the deployment.
  • Now: I can only move a chat into a folder, but the URL is not shared.

Please help explain where that functionality went or how to achieve the previous behavior.

Hey tomraab90-3126! I see you’re having some confusion with the recent update regarding projects and folder structure. Could you share a bit more about what specifically you’re struggling with? It would help to know which aspects are unclear or any specific changes you’re noticing. Let me know if you’re still having trouble!

Like I mentioned. I wonder where the option went to add/move a chat to a different project.

Hey! Jumping in here :waving_hand:

I think you may be confusing Folders VS projects, here are some docs that may be useful:

Hi, @pawlean I’m not confusing them. I just can’t find the option to move a chat to a different project now. I can only move it to a different folder.

Folders have no effects on deployments in response to how you can only move chat into folders and a URL isn’t shared.

I just tried it myself, what the flow is:

  1. Move chat to folder
  2. Find folder in Library
  3. Click chat in the folder
  4. Create branch
  5. Publish
  6. Deployment URL

Does that make sense?

No. I can not find the option to move a chat to a different project now. I can only move it to a different folder. I need to move a chat to a different project.

Yes, I understand.

Can you go through the flow I described above?

@pawlean I went to the flow above. It just creates a duplicate of that project with another vercel URL. That is not what I wanted to do.
Before there was the option to move a chat to a different project. That option seems to be gone now, and I’m missing it/can’t find it.

Yes, I believe that it was removed and changed for this.

Let me have a look at what we can do instead! I’m not familiar with this flow because I like to keep it simple with a Chat > Project > Deploy.

I found a workaround by changing deleting the URL in Vercel in one project and adding it to another.

Thanks for sharing!

I’ll give this a go myself :folded_hands:
