V0 Randomly switching Github branch away from Main

EDIT: The cause it the app constantly switching the github branch away from Main. I keep switching it back, and it’s fighting with me every few prompts.

Every single change I make is making it auto-deploy to production, and it’s no longer using my custom domain.

I didn’t enable this.

How do I stop it and how do I get back to publishing onto the custom domain that I’d been using?

It’s doing it again today - I thought it was because at some point I’d selected to publish as Testing instead of Production, so I selected to publish to production and it deployed normally.

Now this new chat seems to have reverted back to testing, and publishing to the testing URL on every chat message.

Hi @alexhandsaker-7128, I’m not sure if I understand the issue correctly.

You’ve set a custom domain for your project but it’s not maintaining the custom domain between deployments?

Can you share the sequence of events? When did you set up the domain? At which deployment did it stop being used?

What is your publish flow? Are you using GitHub integration?

Also, can you share your chat ID here?

So the bug is that it keeps switching the Github from the main branch to a testing branch.

I literally:

Switched to main
Reverted the code to the previous (as switching branch automatically)

Now about 30 mins later I notice that it’s switched back to a dev branch again

16:32

It’s switching away every other prompt - This behaviour is infuriating

It’s done it to me again, I literally cannot write changes into the code without it auto changing and then publishing.

And whilst it’s publishing I can’t do ANYTHING

This is real “its time to migrate away” behaviour because this is impossible to work with

@anshumanb @jacobparis is this issue understood from the explanations I’ve given?

https://v0.app/chat/luna-prototype-v1-25-6tgzIYjFH51#lwlmh8hroXt2ngyy5qGzbPDoMT7ej36J

And now I can’t deploy AT ALL because your bug has caused this issue

Can you override this limitation, I have a super important meeting in 12 hours, genuinely can’t believe how much time has been lost today to fighiting with the bugs in V0

@anshumanb @jacobparis @pawlean

Hi @alexhandsaker-7128, I’m sorry that you’re facing this issue.

The rate limits must have reset by now.

About the issue: have you tried disconnecting your GitHub repository and then reconnecting to see if that solves the issue.

v0 pushes to main branch by default until the user changes the branch in v0.

Let me get our team in loop.

Shared in help-v0 Slack

I did disconnect Github at a conversation level, and it reconnected itself after I made a couple of code edits and saved them.

I couldn’t really see a behaviour pattern as I could make a change and it would remain on main or unconnected, and then maybe 3+ changes later I see it’s switched to a dev branch on github and is publishing on every editor save or v0 prompt run.

This has even persisted into duplicated chats.

Hi @alexhandsaker-7128, thanks for this information. Our team has identified the issue and fixed it for this particular chat. Can you confirm it’s working correctly now? Try in the chat ID you shared in this thread.

Doesn’t seem to be doing that behaviour anymore, thanks
