Need to release the domain from Vercel infrastructure. It is not released even after deleting.
Are you trying to transfer it to another platform or team? Or do you just use it on a different project on current team?
I am trying to transfer to other platform. I am facing following Issue aws: [ERROR]: An error occurred (CNAMEAlreadyExists) when calling the UpdateDistribution operation: One or more of the CNAMEs you provided are already associated with a different resource.
Resolve ASAP.
HI @amyegan , Can you update Issue. The issue is affecting the business.
Where do you see this error message. Can you share a screenshot and explain the steps you followed leading up to the error?
We see this in error in the AWS CDN when we are trying to add for the alternate domain. pls find screenshot attached for the error.
- Go to AWS Console.
- Search for Cloud Front
- Create new distribution
- After creating add the alternate domains for redirection. And below is the error.
@amyegan any update on the Issue
I haven’t found anything in the logs suggesting that the domain is still configured for your account on Vercel. I do see the record of it being removed by you.
Working with the domains team to get more insight into what’s happening here
@amyegan Pls get resloved ASAP. We are having Business Loss.
We’ve dug into this and cannot find any reason for the error within Vercel. The domain has been removed as you previously requested.
Please contact AWS support for more help. They’ll have better visibility into the source of the error on within platform and how to fix it ![]()
Solution summary
To resolve this, first confirm the domain is no longer listed in the Vercel dashboard under project or team settings. If Vercel confirms the domain has been released from their infrastructure, the fix is to contact AWS Support to identify and clear the stale CNAME association within the AWS platform.
