Title: Vercel MCP (ChatGPT) – 403 Forbidden on Team-Scoped API Requests Despite OWNER Access
Hello Vercel MCP Team,
I am reporting a persistent authorization issue with the Vercel MCP integration in ChatGPT.
Issue
- Team:
hansol-ksj - Team ID:
team_xCmAI5nywckIpSIFtUsdPDPi - Team membership:
OWNER - ChatGPT Vercel MCP:
403 Forbiddenon team-scoped API requests - Vercel CLI: Successful access to the same team and API endpoint
Reproduction
- Connect Vercel MCP to ChatGPT through OAuth.
- List teams through MCP → returns
teams: []. - Request
GET /v2/teams/{teamId}→ returns403 Forbidden. - Retrieve a project with an explicit
teamId→ returns403 Forbidden. - Retrieve the same project without
teamId→ succeeds.
Independent verification
Using Vercel CLI v59.11.1:
vercel teams list→ Successvercel --scope hansol-ksj project inspect hansol-rnd-insight-hub→ Successvercel api /v2/teams/team_xCmAI5nywckIpSIFtUsdPDPi --method GET→ Success, membership role confirmed asOWNER
Troubleshooting completed
- Reconnected and reauthorized the ChatGPT OAuth integration.
- Verified that ChatGPT is listed under Settings → Sign in with Vercel.
- Confirmed team ownership and successful API access through CLI.
- Verified that the issue persists after reconnection.
Error message
Not authorized: Trying to access resource under scope "hansol-ksj". You must re-authenticate to this scope or use a token with access to this scope.

Request
Could the Vercel MCP engineering team investigate the OAuth team-scope handling for ChatGPT?
Specifically, why does the MCP integration return 403 for team-scoped requests while the same authenticated account can successfully access those resources through the Vercel CLI?
Please advise whether there is a known issue, workaround, or planned fix.
Thank you.
