Hello Vercel Community,
I'm experiencing a persistent authorization issue with the Vercel MCP integration in ChatGPT/Codex.
Vercel Support recommended posting here because the integration is currently in Beta.
The issue
The integration returns HTTP 403 Forbidden whenever I attempt to inspect a project belonging to my Vercel team.
The error states:
Not authorized: Trying to access resource under scope "ai-storm-intelligence-os". You must re-authenticate to this scope or use a token with access to this scope.
Environment:
Vercel team: ai-storm-intelligence-os
Team role: Owner
Project: tsg-intelligence-ui
Integration: Official Vercel plugin for ChatGPT/Codex
Failed operation: GET /v9/projects/{idOrName}
Troubleshooting already completed
Verified that my Vercel account is an Owner of the correct team.
Confirmed that I can access and administer the team and project through the Vercel dashboard.
Confirmed the Vercel plugin was installed and connected in ChatGPT.
Attempted to reconnect the existing OAuth authorization.
Following Vercel Support's guidance, completely disconnected the account and reinstalled the plugin.
Completed a fresh OAuth authorization through Vercel.
Verified that aiStorm Intelligence OS was selected on the authorization screen.
Confirmed that the authorization process completed successfully.
Retested project inspection in both the existing ChatGPT conversation and a new conversation.
Result: The same 403 Forbidden error persists.
The plugin is configured for read-only tool usage in ChatGPT. Other connected integrations, including GitHub and Railway, are functioning correctly.

Questions for the Vercel team
Could this be a team-scope mapping issue in the Vercel MCP OAuth integration?
Is there an additional authorization requirement for team-owned projects?
Is there a known Beta issue where the selected team scope is not reflected in the token used by ChatGPT?
Is there a supported way to inspect or refresh the team authorization without repeatedly disconnecting and reinstalling the integration?
We're troubleshooting a production application and need read-only access to project details, deployments, and runtime logs.
I would appreciate any guidance or escalation path. We want to resolve the integration issue without modifying production settings, credentials, or deployments.
Thank you!
