Hello Vercel team,
Vercel Support’s AI directed me to report this here because MCP is in Beta.
Using the official https://mcp.vercel.com/ endpoint through Codex in the VS Code extension, get_project returns HTTP 404 (“not_found / Project not found”) for an existing project visible in my Vercel Dashboard.
Verified:
- OAuth reauthentication completed successfully.
- After disabling/re-enabling the MCP connection, get_auth_user returned the expected user and matching default Team ID.
- The Project ID and Team ID used in the request exactly match the IDs displayed in Dashboard settings.
- Previous project-name lookups and a team-scoped project list also did not expose the project.
Request structure: get_project(idOrName="", teamId="")
Observed on October 19, 2026. Request ID: sin1:sfo1::9v9dm-1792402022775-6c5d3f2b5801
We stopped retries. No permissions, project settings, deployments or resources were modified.
Could you help determine whether this is an MCP resource-visibility/grant issue, request-routing issue, or a tool parameter requirement?
Please provide a targeted diagnostic step before suggesting broader permissions or configuration changes. I can provide exact account/team/project identifiers and screenshots through an official private channel if needed.
Our intended use is read-only inspection of project/deployment metadata and recovery topology.
Thank you.
