Hello Vercel MCP team,
Vercel Support directed me to the Community because Vercel MCP is in Beta. I am reporting an authorization problem with the official connected Vercel app in the Codex desktop app on Windows.
What we verified
- The Vercel dashboard is accessible normally in the browser.
- The expected team is selected as the account default team.
- Account Settings > Sign in with Vercel shows ChatGPT connected, owned by Vercel MCP. Its displayed permissions include reading team data, reading and changing authorized projects, and reading and changing deployments.
- Reconnection and OAuth authorization have already been attempted, without resolving the failure.
Latest read-only checks on October 3, 2026
- list_teams returns teams: [] and pagination count: 0.
- get_deployment with the verified team ID explicitly supplied returns HTTP 403 Forbidden:
Not authorized: Trying to access resource under scope "[TEAM_SLUG]". You must re-authenticate to this scope or use a token with access to this scope.
The error identifies the expected team ID; saml=false and enforced=false. Actual team IDs and deployment URLs have been omitted from this public report.
Impact The connection cannot inspect our staging deployment. This is not a confirmed production outage: the dashboard shows production Ready and GitHub reports the staging deployment as successful.
Request Could the MCP team investigate whether the existing OAuth grant's account identity and effective team authorization are correctly recognized? We have not established whether the cause is the grant scope, token, connector adapter, or server-side authorization. Please advise the next diagnostic step beyond repeating disconnect/reconnect, and whether this matches a tracked issue. Please provide a secure channel if identifiers or further diagnostic information are needed.
No credentials, secret values, customer data, account email, project identifiers, or deployment URLs are included. We are requesting diagnosis, not a workaround that weakens deployment protection or broadens permissions.
Thank you.
