Vercel MCP returns "Tool deploy_to_vercel not found" although tool is advertised

Vercel MCP advertises deploy_to_vercel, but server returns Tool not found

I'm using the Vercel MCP through OpenAI Codex.

The Vercel integration advertises deploy_to_vercel as an available tool, but every actual invocation fails with:

McpServerError: Tool deploy_to_vercel not found error_code: INVALID_ARGUMENT JSON-RPC code: -32602

Other Vercel MCP operations work correctly. The integration is authenticated and can successfully access/list the existing Vercel project and deployments.

I also refreshed/reconnected the Vercel integration and started a completely new Codex session. The same behavior persists.

The issue therefore appears to be a mismatch between the tool registry exposed to Codex and the tools actually registered by the Vercel MCP backend:

Tool catalog: deploy_to_vercel available Vercel MCP backend: deploy_to_vercel not found

No deployment is created.

Could you confirm whether deploy_to_vercel is currently enabled/supported by the Vercel MCP server used by Codex?

Confirming the same issue in ChatGPT Web with the connected Vercel plugin (0.21.4), in addition to Codex.

On Sep 28, 2026, I reconnected my Vercel account via OAuth and started a fresh ChatGPT chat. I requested a minimal production deployment and provided an inline index.html. The exposed tool signature was deploy_to_vercel(): any (no target/name/files inputs), while the current Vercel MCP docs describe those inputs: https://vercel.com/docs/agent-resources/vercel-mcp/tools
