Windsurf is also a good plan b
absolutely not worth the money anymore, huge downgrade with the new pricing model! I burned through my $20 montly plan’s credits in about 3 days, not even using it that heavily as I normally do. That means I will be paying about 10x or 15x what I used to pay, which obviously I won’t do. Time to start looking for something else.
Let me know if you come across something you really like.
Windsurf also has an preview section, the MCP configurations are really easy, and a lot is available out of the box from the editor. And it currently has 4 unlimited models including deepseek v3 and r1. And their own model is not bad as well. It also has build in memory management. AND it has the same preview where you can click elements and use prompts only on those elements etc.
I tried to warn V0, and i predicted on the date that things like this are going to happen. I was completely ignored…
Dear support Team, I know you cannot do anything about it. And I’m not envying your Job. Things are going to get busy. Wouldn’t work too hard because they gonna cut jobs in a few month (if you are on the v0 side of the business, Vercel should be ok).
Very sad to see this, really loved working on v0.
Over the past six months, it used to be possible to send more than 200 messages per day. However, the platform has gradually slowed down query execution to limit user interactions. Now, with the new pricing model, I believe it’s time to consider leaving the V0 platform. It’s no longer an affordable or suitable AI solution. It’s probably a good moment to explore alternative AI coding tools.
Definitely a good time to explore other tools. I’ve been using Lovable now which is a solid alternative with cheaper pricing, with Windsurf on the side using o3 from OpenAI, and using 21st.dev Magic Chat for quick component design. I switched from NuxtJS to NextJS as my main stack as that seems to be what all the AI’s intuitively spit out. Honestly, in hindsight i think the price hike was a good thing because I got off my @ss and started looking (and finding) new interesting stuff to work with. I’m on fire now tbh. I will probably stay one more with V0 to finsh one project since I have all my context here, but after that I’ll be gone.
V0 should have just raised the price to $100/month for unlimited use and I would have probably (happily)
paid it, but this price hike is just ridiculous.
I cancelled my paid v0 right before the new pricing ticked over for me.
I tried to use free v0 to check how far $5.00 of credit would take me.
It did about 8 prompts, with a basic dashboard UI, and a few supabase integrations. Gone in an evening. I took me further than I expected, but I would be burning so much with the new model. Moved to paid Cursor.
