Vercel Weekly - August 31, 2026
Vercel
Top Highlights
- Vercel Connect is now generally available, enabling apps and agents to use short-lived, scoped tokens instead of storing long-lived provider secrets, with support for over 100 services including Slack, Google, Notion, and GitHub. This eliminates credential sprawl by having deployments authenticate with their existing Vercel OIDC identity.
- The new Run SDK provides secure eval for AI agents, allowing TypeScript programs written by agents to execute with proper authentication and human approval gates when touching real applications. This addresses the critical security challenge of agents coordinating tools and processing results in production environments.
- Vercel introduced eve agents that can be built and deployed directly from the dashboard in just a few clicks, automatically scaffolding the agent, creating a private Git repository, and deploying it as a working project.
Community Projects
- Vercel launched a cool tool that checks how agent friendly a site is. I tried it on my project and got 100
- I built a Figma plugin that turns React and Next.js projects into editable designs
- Gitphere // your GitHub network on a 3D globe
- Attrifast — AI visibility + Stripe revenue attribution, built with Next.js 15 and AI Gateway
- pdfcn - Beautiful PDFs, made simple
Don't forget to visit the #showcase to see what else everyone is building
