Verification phone number goes wrong when try to login

My client can’t get access to his account trough email login. He gets verification code trough his email, after entering that he needs to enter his phone number to verify its account. When he does that he gets an error that his phone number is already registered. He is not able to access his account and disable his team plan. What should i do for him.
