What is the Vercel Firewall?

Can somebody be so awesome to explain what is the Vercel firewall and what does it do exactly?

The Vercel Firewall protects apps and sites against attacks and unauthorized access. It’s made up of a platform-wide firewall with DDoS mitigation and Web Application Firewall (WAF) with customizable rules and Attack Challenge Mode.
