Addressing high credit consumption for prompts and code changes in v0

Is anyone else noticing credits running out very quickly the last 2 days? It’s costing me roughly $1.10 for every prompt and code change! To top it off I just ran out of credits again, topped up $10.00 did 1 prompt and ran out of credits after that single prompt.\n\nAny feedback would be appreciated

I am using a Team plan, and both my wife and I have been experiencing this issue since yesterday across two separate projects. The chat has become almost unusable due to extreme latency and constant timeouts.

As you can see in the attached screenshot, I asked the agent for a relatively simple task—translating one subpage into Ukrainian. The agent worked for 11 minutes and 26 seconds, only to end in an ‘Agent Timeout’ without finishing the task. The main issues we are facing:

  • Extreme Credit Consumption: Even though the tasks fail with a timeout, we are being charged heavily. A single failed attempt like this costs us around $5 in credits.

  • Total Loss of Responsiveness: Tasks that used to take seconds now take over 10 minutes.

  • Consistent Failure: We tried duplicating the chat to clear history, but the result is the same. Smaller, new projects seem to respond slightly better, but our main projects are completely stuck.

We really enjoy using v0, but since we are on a paid Team plan, this sudden drop in performance and high cost for failed tasks is very frustrating. Could you please check if there is an issue with the model’s processing efficiency or our account’s performance allocation?

Can someone look into the current credit consumption on my account please as this level of expenditure on my part isn’t sustainable. I’ve been very gracious over the period of this project not complaining about constant rewrites to fix the same problem, but I’m at the stage where this project is no longer workable via v0.

Hi @office-5045, I see. Which model are you using here: v0 Mini/Pro/Max?

Also, which country are you using v0 from? Are you using any VPNs?

  • Location & VPN: I am using v0 from Slovakia and I am not using any VPN.

  • Models used: Originally, I was using v0 Max because it was fast and the credit consumption was reasonable. However, since the extreme slowdown started, I switched to v0 Mini to save credits. Even with Mini, I am being charged around $1 per message, which seems very high given the lack of responsiveness.

  • Chat Link: I would like to share the chat link with you, but I want to ensure it stays private. Since this is a public forum, how should I send it to you privately? Can I DM it to you, or is there another secure way?

As shown in my screenshot, the system worked for over 11 minutes before a timeout. This is where most of my credits are being wasted—on tasks that never finish.

I have attached another example of a simple task that cost me $5.34. Interestingly, when I hover over the info icon, it shows an Input cost of $8.56 and an Output cost of $0.24. This is so confusing.

I concur exactly with what users are saying here - cost has gone thru the roof in the last 2-3 days, very basic changes that were costing $0.15-0.30 are now costing up to 10x, completely unsustaintable.

That’s weird. What do you see when you expand the usage details under the message in the chat view (as in the previous reply by ava).

Hi Anshuman, here is another concrete example of the issue.

I asked the agent to translate a single static ‘About’ page from Slovak to Ukrainian. This is a very basic task with no dynamic elements or complex logic.

Model: v0 Pro.

Duration: It took 5 minutes and 28 seconds to complete (see ‘Action.png’).

Cost: It cost 1.41 credits for this single message.

Post-task Lag: Even after the work is done, every preview takes about 20 seconds to load, making it impossible to work efficiently.

Combined with my previous examples where it took 11 minutes and ended in a timeout for $5, it seems like the system is struggling with basic processing. Is there a reason why a simple static page translation is now taking 5+ minutes and costing so much more than a few days ago?

Hi Anshuman, I am attaching one last example before I stop using the agent entirely until this is resolved.

The latest example:

Task: Translating a single, simple contact form.

Duration: It took 9 minutes and 5 seconds to process.

Cost: 1.99 credits for this one message.

I cannot afford to give the agent any more tasks at this stage. Over the last few days, this issue has cost us hundreds of dollars in credits for very basic work that either takes far too long or ends in a timeout. It is incredibly frustrating, especially on a Team plan where we expected stability.

I am officially requesting a resolution to this latency and a refund of the excess credits consumed over the last few days. The current credit consumption is completely out of line with the complexity of the tasks (static pages and simple forms).

I look forward to your update and a fair resolution regarding the lost credits.

I’ve consumed 10$ with a single message. What’s happening? I expect to be credited of 40$ consumed today with just few messages or I will stop to use this service. Just saying.
