The part that may explain the fast usage is that v0 pricing is token-based. The docs say token usage varies based on the length of your input and the size of the output, and that v0 can include relevant context such as chat history, source files, and Vercel-specific knowledge as input. So a session that looks like "basic prompting" can still become expensive if the chat/project context is large or the generated output is substantial. The best thing to check is the v0 Usage page, because the docs say it provides a detailed log of each event with the date, user, event type, model, and cost. That should show exactly where the $5 went and whether it was expected usage or something unusual. I do agree that clearer in-product cost visibility would help. Even if the billing is technically correct, it would be useful to see an estimated cost before generation or a clearer breakdown after each generation, especially for hobby users on the free credits. If you can share a screenshot of the Usage page with private details hidden, Vercel staff should be able to tell whether this was normal token usage, a specific model cost, or something abnormal.

I know this post is pretty old, but wanted to share some info in case it helps (hopefully you've already solved it). 3 million in seconds definitely doesn't seem like normal usage so that could be a DDoS attack. Whenever you see something like that happening, you can enable Attack Mode. It will challenge all visitors with a verification screen while allowing legitimate users through. It's free and requests blocked by it don't count toward your usage. You can also investigate traffic in your dashboard to see what's hitting your site. Look for patterns in user agents, IP addresses, or specific routes being targeted. For protection going forward, you can set up with spend limits and consider adding custom firewall rules to block specific bad actors. For spikes in legitimate traffic, there's also a new Flat Rate CDN option that gives you a fixed monthly price. It covers traffic spikes for CDN Requests, Fast Data Transfer, Blob Data Transfer, and Observability events generated by CDN requests to prevent surprise bills. https://vercel.com/blog/introducing-flat-rate-cdn

Jacob Paris Projects don't automatically unpause because if you haven't addressed the reason they went over (for example a runaway loop) they would immediately consume the next month's usage and trigger a pause again I have unpaused you manually, you should be good to go

Longnguyenthanh075 5963 I am having the same issue as I approaching end limits of 10GB, the document said up to 10GB for Hobby plan and no mention of resetting as well. I am well past that 30-day period but have not see it resets. I checked with the CS bots from vercel it said the limit will be resetted.

Amy Egan I double checked with the team and they confirmed that the chat agent was right. The `contibutor` role lets you set access control at the project level. The `viewer` role gives read-only access across the whole team. I have a ticket open to track your suggestion as a potential future update. And for now, you can chat with the Vercel contact who helped you set up your Enterprise team to customize the plan so it fits your needs
