Credits available but v0 forces plan upgrade to continue projects

Hello,

I’m experiencing an issue where v0 is asking me to select/upgrade a plan even though I already have a Premium Plan with $19.00 in available credits.

What’s happening:
When I try to continue working on a project, a modal appears saying “Upgrade your plan to send more messages every day” and prompts me to start a Team plan at $30/user/month. It should not be blocking me since I have credits available.

Expected behavior:
v0 should allow me to continue using the product and consume from my available credit balance without forcing a plan upgrade.

I’ve attached screenshots showing both my billing page (with available credits) and the upgrade prompt I’m receiving.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a known workaround?

Are you on a Paid plan, Free plan, or part of a Team?

Looking at the message though, it is saying it is a complimentary upgrade and you wont be charged if you click Upgrade. At least how I am reading that message.

Hey! To help debug your v0 project, could you share your v0 chat link?
It looks like https://v0.app/chat/... — you can copy it from your browser’s address bar while in the chat.

You’ll also need to unlist the chat so our team can view it — here’s how: Sharing | v0 Docs

This helps the team reproduce what you’re seeing much faster. Thanks!

To clarify: I was originally on the Free plan. I got access to the Premium plan by redeeming a promo code that Vercel provided in partnership with Platzi after completing their v0 course. That’s why it shows as a complimentary plan at $0/mo — it’s not a self-purchased upgrade.

After redeeming the code, my credits appeared ($20 gifted + $5 monthly) and the plan changed to Premium. However, despite having $25.00 in available credits, v0 still shows the upgrade prompt when I try to continue a project.

Regarding your note about the “you won’t be charged” message — I did see that, but the modal is still blocking my workflow and asking me to start a Team plan at $30/user/month, which doesn’t seem right for someone who already has a Premium plan with credits available.

Sure! Here’s the link to the v0 chat where the issue occurs:

I’ve followed the steps in the docs to unlist it so your team can view it.

same thing happened to me, i had to change the model from v0 max to v0 pro to continue.
