Fork Github main branch fails with error

I wanted to use the new feature “Fork Main Branch” but it ran into an error—an error without any further description.

  1. Worked on a new project in v0
  2. Connected it to a github repo and deployed/pushed it
  3. Downloaded the code
  4. Made some changes to the codebase outside of v0
  5. Pushed it to the same github repo (main branch)
  6. Tried to “Fork Main Branch” in v0.

My question is two-fold:

a) Any idea what went wrong here and how to resolve it?
b) Not the first time I’ve run into an error without any details provided in its description; what is your policy here and why don’t you include what went wrong, so debugging and error reporting gets more efficient?

Anyone from the team? @pawlean ? :folded_hands:

Hi, can you share a link to the chat that’s failing for you @lexixon?

Hi @mleiter , sure, can I DM it to you?

Btw. I tried both,

  • starting a fresh v0 project, connecting to an existing GitHub repo and fork the main branch, and
  • trying to fork from main branch in an existing project, where I made some changes to main meanwhile.

They simply result in “error” (no description).

I’ve sent you a DM. Feel free to send the chat there and Max and I can go from there
