v0 is extremely promising, but my experience has been disappointing — not to say frustrating! I subscribed to the plan, which by the way is quite expensive, to build a personal one-page project. And guess what? After just a few hours of use, I completely ran out of credits!
Most of the questions I asked were just to adapt a single one-page session, which v0 either didn’t understand, kept producing errors for, or stopped generating code midway — forcing me to restart the process over and over.
Honestly, what do you guys expect us to do?
It feels like we’re all just being used as test subjects to train your A.I., and truth is, it doesn’t even deliver what it promises — and the price is way too steep!
I think you seriously need to rethink this, and especially compensate the people, like me, who got tricked into signing up for something that basically just drains our money.
So what about my project now?
The refund is still pending — and okay, that’s the bare minimum — but what, I don’t get to finish my project?
Seriously? I can’t believe this.
If you share the chat ID, I can look into the logs for more info. You could also share screenshots of the chat to let us see your prompts and v0’s responses.
That should give us a better understanding of how the credits were used
Most of the chat happened before the upgrade, which is important to keep in mind. The upgrade started with this session, where I asked v0 to map an image and add some interactive hotspots. Worst decision ever! No matter how clear I was, it always messed up the order of things. Then came a bunch of debugging, then it started compiling and not compiling, and it just went on like that until I finally gave up trying to map the image with v0 — totally useless! It was something super simple, but your AI just couldn’t get it or do it, even though I tried showing it examples with images and easy-to-understand language!
From version 19 to version 58, it was basically just messing around with that session. After tons of debugging, broken code halfway through, wrong code, missing lines — a whole bunch of issues. No matter how clear I was, it always came back with some kind of error. Even though the AI supposedly understood, said it got it, even explained the logic right… the actual code was a total mess!
Thanks for sharing the chat. From what I can see in the logs, it does appear to be real usage and not a bug regarding the amount of credits consumed. I also noticed that you attached some images, which likely needed additional processing and used more credits.
I recommend reading through the guide Pauline shared earlier. It has some great examples and advice on how to use v0 and other generative AI tools efficiently when building production-ready projects.
I’m on my last few days of the old payment model.
This morning I tried to update some text on my homescreen which wasn’t WCAG.
Prompt 1 - Darkened primary colour across all app, didn’t quite hit ratio.
Prompt 2 - Changed to a different colour entirely, across all app, but not home screen.
Prompt 3 - Changed back to darkened, primary colour, but home screen didn’t change. I realised it had hardcoded the hero text.
Prompt 4 - Identified the issue, asked it to update the hardcoded hero. It then re-wrote the entire homepage.
Prompt 5 - Asked to restore the homepage and change the colour. It changed the colour but the homepage was still completely broken.
I restored from prior to prompt 1, started again with explicit hard-code instructions.
Some of this is obviously my user error - I didn’t realise it was a separate hardcoded value, and not the primary colour (even though it was the same colour). I could’ve tried to be clearer.
But still, 5 prompts to change text. This is the realistic experience of a lot of people using these tools, and the new pricing will make it unusable.
Thanks for the amazing support… not!
Just another ridiculous excuse to justify the absurd price of your tool! Honestly, this reminded me of Spy Sheriff back in the early Windows XP days…
Congrats — you’ve just lost one more customer!
