My old website, which has been deleted , is still showing up in search

I have a website that was using the default domain from Vercel.
I tried creating a sitemap.xml and robots.txt file, but unfortunately, Google Search Console only recognized the homepage like this:
https://nameproject.omega.vercel.app

The problem is that I deleted the site from Google Search Console, but it still appears in search engines!
When I click on it, the site no longer exists (404 error).
I don’t care that it no longer exists, but it’s affecting my other website, for which I purchased a custom domain.

There’s another community post with 404 debugging tips that might be helpful. Please give these solutions a try and let us know how it goes.

A human should be around soon to offer more advice. But you can also get helpful information quickly by asking v0.

Hi @mostafafathiabdelaal, welcome to the Vercel Community!

Removing the website from Google Search Console doesn’t stop the crawlers from indexing or deleting the indexed pages from the search results. There shouldn’t really be any downside of the URL being indexed because once the crawlers figure out that it’s non-existent they will remove the URL from the results.

Can you share how is it affecting negatively to your other projects?
