Vercel subdomain reassignment causing Google Search Console canonical URL conflict

Problem

I’m on a Hobby plan and facing a critical SEO issue caused by subdomain reassignment.

Current Situation

  • I previously had a project on nexa-neon.vercel.app
  • I migrated to my custom domain https://unware.studio/ and deleted the old project
  • Vercel reassigned nexa-neon.vercel.app to a completely different user
  • Google Search Console is still selecting nexa-neon.vercel.app as the canonical URL for my website, completely blocking my site from being indexed

I can prove I was the original owner — I still have verified access to the nexa-neon.vercel.app property in Google Search Console.

I contacted Vercel support and a community expert agreed to escalate my case, but since I’m on a Hobby plan I cannot submit a support ticket.

Questions

Is there any way to:

  • Get this escalated internally without a paid plan?strong text

The domain troubleshooting guide can help with most custom domain configuration issues. You might be able to use that guide to solve it before a human is available to help you. Then you can come back here and share the answer for bonus points.

You can also use v0 to narrow down the possibilities.

Hi @paulhd334, welcome to the Vercel Community!

I’m not sure what I can do from Vercel’s side since the subdomain is taken already. Have you tried contact Google Search Support about this?
