Repository migration/consolidation
Hey team! Our Agent Skills have been trending nicely on skills.sh but we’ve decided to consolidate and split up the repo into two separate ones:
- The existing
/agent-skills: where currently only two core skills will remain in the original repo, theapify-ultimate-scraperandapify-actor-development. These we plan to maintain internally with potentially more skills coming down the line. - A newly created
/awesome-skills: we aim for this be a community driven repository open to external submissions where we also plan to move all of the other existing “use case based” scraping skills.
Impact on installs stats?
I guess I know the answer to this already but want to confirm anyway: Will we lose the installs stats on those skills that are going to be moved to the new repo? Is there any way to keep these numbers?
Why are we doing this?
We haven’t really tested all of the skills thoroughly as we should before releasing them and based on community feedback and our own additional internal testing we’ve learned that the “use case based” skills are sort of redundant and the generic ultimate-scraper skill does the job just as well if not better + it can hold all of the use case/workflows context inside its instructions file as well.
We’re also planning to use the main repo for Cursor & Claude Code plugins so for these and other reasons we want to keep the main repo clean and tidy and have a separate one for more niche, experimental and vertical-based skills instead.
