Domain hornerito.com.ar is locked to another Vercel team I cannot access

I own the domain hornerito.com.ar, but Vercel reports that it is linked to another team that I cannot access. This is my only Vercel account and my only team is “Marcos’ projects”.

Current behavior
When I try to use the domain in my project, Vercel shows messages like:

  • “This domain is linked to another Vercel account”
  • “Please move this domain to this team in order to use Vercel nameservers”

In the global Domains section of my account, the domain does not appear at all, so I cannot move or manage it.

Expected behavior
I should be able to attach hornerito.com.ar to my team “Marcos’ projects” and use it with my project.

DNS / ownership details

  • Domain: hornerito.com.ar
  • Registrar: NIC Argentina (nic.ar)
  • Nameservers:
  • The domain was registered recently and has no previous owner.
  • DNS is already pointing correctly to Vercel.

Account / team details

  • This is my only Vercel account.
  • My only team is: “Marcos’ projects”.
  • There are no other teams visible in the team selector.

Conclusion
The domain appears to be internally associated with another Vercel team (possibly orphaned or inaccessible).
I cannot resolve this from the UI.

Request
Please release or move the domain hornerito.com.ar so it can be attached to my team “Marcos’ project

s”.

The domain troubleshooting guide can help with most custom domain configuration issues. You might be able to use that guide to solve it before a human is available to help you. Then you can come back here and share the answer for bonus points.

You can also use v0 to narrow down the possibilities.

Thanks, but this guide does not apply to my case.

This is not a DNS propagation or configuration issue.
The domain hornerito.com.ar is already pointing to Vercel nameservers and DNS is correct.

The actual problem is that the domain is internally linked to another Vercel team that I cannot access.
This is my only account and my only team is “Marcos’ projects”.
The domain does not appear in the global Domains dashboard, so I cannot move or remove it myself.

This requires manual intervention from Vercel staff to release or move the domain to my team.

From relevant docs:

  • If your domain is in use by another Vercel account, you may be prompted to verify access to the domain by adding a TXT record. This will not move the domain into your account, but will allow you to use it in your project.

Can you give that a go?

Hi Pauline, thanks for your reply.

Yes, I’ve already done that.

The TXT ownership verification records requested by Vercel have been added and are publicly resolvable:

  • _vercel.hornerito.com.ar for the apex domain

  • _vercel.www.hornerito.com.ar for the www subdomain

The domain is fully delegated to Cloudflare, DNS propagation is complete, and all records match the values shown in the Vercel UI. I’ve refreshed the domain multiple times, but it still shows as “linked to another Vercel account”.

I’ve attached a screenshot of the current Domains state in Vercel for reference.

Could you please check from your side and release or detach the domain from the other (orphaned) account so it can be used by my team?

Thanks in advance,
Marcos

Hi Pauline,

Just to close the loop: the issue is now resolved.
After completing the DNS setup in Cloudflare (and waiting for full propagation), Vercel allowed me to use Configure Automatically, and the domain was successfully attached to my project.

Thanks for your help and guidance.

Best regards,
Marcos
