Increased token costs for v0 generations after January 17

We use v0 as a provider for generating advertising sites. We always use the same prompt with minor changes. Until January 17, each generation cost no more than $1, sometimes $1.5. After January 17, there was apparently some kind of update, and generations now cost up to $4. Support is not responding.

And after

Absolutely. Prices have skyrocketed.

Mini model feels are as expensive as pro model was now. Yet again, this occurred RIGHT after V0 removed the live credits/buy data from their menu. Just when V0 was earning back my trust. lol

It’s terrible. In december tokens were really good in price, even for the pro model. Prices are insane now.

yeah, brought up this same issue last week. Ive had multiple prompts that cost $7-$10 a piece and almost every prompt is between $1-4 now. Part of me wouldn’t mind it if it was doing the tasks perfectly everytime. Its when it spends $5 on something that actually all needs to be undone or reworked a bunch thats when things get rough. Still love v0. but the last week has been tricky to navigate.

Ya guys seriously, what is happening here?

It feels like prices are skyrocketing by the prompt. Model change issue? Compute shortage? The mini model is charging me like $0.50 per prompt and more.

And the model has gone absolutely horrid. Was there a recent update here? If so, please revert ASAP.

Having the same problem here, in december i was really happy about the usage/pricings each prompt ended up being between 0,01 and 0,40. Now most prompt are going for 1$ and above. Literally forced to use the mini model now to end up between 0,15 and 0,70€ whatsup with the pricings? My account is getting drained.

Thank you for the feedback, everyone! We’re working on improving usage right now. Have you tried using the Mini?

Yes mini was excellent prior to this recent update/change. (Posted kudos about it)

Then after Jan 17-20 change, prices went like 5x higher. It’s charging like the old pro model now.

mini was completely ineffecrtive for me and it is not an effective response, V0 Pro is minimum model required.

hopefully an annoucement will be made on this and offer token credits for the 3-5x cost increase.

Hey there, @peterjohnson101986-4! Just checking in on your issue with the increased token costs after January 17. Do you still need assistance, or have you found a solution? Excited to help!

Hello. Was I supposed to look for a solution? It seems that the problem is on your side and it persists.

You guys really screwed up. I don’t know what you did on January 17, but such a huge increase in the cost of entry tokens is unacceptable. We are already looking for a new supplier for website generation.

Mini was excellent before. Now it’s very limited, inefficient and expensive.
Pro model seems to have gone down in performance also.
Consumption has skyrocketed in price, while performance went down. It makes no sense.
Hope you give us some kind of retribution for this, because it cannot NOT be an error.

This appears to be fixed - is it now working for others?

I have tried a few prompts and all as I would expect - 10x plus lower than what the system was consuming over the last 10 days.

This appears to be fixed from what looks like a misleading change comment (Updated token pricing) in changelog (updated Jan 27th): Changelog | v0 - v0.app

please note my now normal credit usage:

@pawlean

please can you advise on the following :-

a) was the fix actually applied on Jan 27th?

b) what was the issue - presume a post mortem impact assessment has been carried out?

c) why did it take 10 days & numerous customer impact before resolution?

d) what is being done to ensure it does not happen again & customers informed of any (system) issues?

I suggest simple monitoring of every account average usage and if more than x accounts go x% above their average for 1-2 days, then there could be a (global) issue that needs looking into. Potentially 1000s (or more) of customers are seriously impacted by this issue and it desevers an explanation.

This has happended before some months ago and represents serious impact to development.

feedback appreciated

I’m glad this works for you now, Alex!

Appreciate this feedback, I’ll make sure it gets in front of the v0 team. :folded_hands:

As I’ve said before, feel free to request a refund in Help with a link to this thread.

Thanks again for your patience everyone!
