Vercel AI Gateway returning forbidden error for all requests

I’m getting a Forbidden error for all requests sent to the AI gateway. It used to work before, so I’m not sure what changed. I’ve added a card to the billing section. Can you please help?

A Forbidden error from the AI Gateway usually points to an authentication or authorization issue. Here’s what I’d recommend checking:

  • Make sure the Vercel API token you’re using is valid and hasn’t been revoked. You can generate a new one from your Vercel Account Settings if needed.
  • The AI Gateway may have plan-specific requirements. Adding a card alone might not be enough if an upgrade is needed to access the feature.
  • Double-check that the model provider API keys are correctly configured in your AI Gateway settings on the Vercel dashboard.

Hi,

It just started to work for me. I didn’t change anything. Maybe it had to do with Dubai region downtime around those dates?

Not sure why, but I just tested the same keys again and it worked.
