How I Outsmarted v0’s New Pricing and Kept Building for Free

Yo.

Most of you already noticed — v0 updated their pricing.
And let’s be real: if you’re actually building real projects with v0 (not just a landing page for your imaginary SaaS), it’s now stupid expensive.

Before? I used v0 daily on Team. $30 lasted me a month.
Now? That same $30? Gone in 7 hours :skull:.
Why? Because I build fullstack. Not drag-and-drop toy apps.

So I did what we all do when tools start acting up — found a workaround.
A real one.

v0 + GitHub + Cursor AI = no more wasted money

Build smart in 2025:

  1. Use v0 for frontend only – clean UI builder, but backend? Nah.
  2. Use Cursor AI for backend + cleaning v0’s mess – Cursor actually understands logic, structure, and works great with Supabase (MCP-style).

They both sync with GitHub, so edits in Cursor show up in v0 — and vice versa. One codebase. Smooth flow.

This isn’t about “becoming a prompt engineer.”
It’s about shipping real stuff without bleeding money.

Setup in 2 mins:

  1. Install GitHub Desktop
  2. Install Cursor AI (you can clone directly in Cursor, but GitHub Desktop feels cleaner)
  3. Connect your v0 project to the same GitHub repo

Done. Live-sync between v0 + Cursor.

Avoid burning credits:

  • Fix all v0 bugs inside Cursor AI
  • Start ideas in v0, then build & polish logic in Cursor
  • Use v0 for sketching – Supabase schemas, UI flow, layout
  • Log bugs clearly, ask both AIs — don’t just click and pray

Good luck.
Build smart. Spend zero. Keep pushing.

Good one, doing a similar flow, but looking to remove v0 completely out of the equation since the company is not trustable it seems. You never know what their next stunt is they will pull. v0 is good for UI, has good knowledge of shadeCN etc. But that is it, once a new model comes out that can do it. v0 will be literally unsable
