V0 is spending credits on fixing simple issues, but failing

This is a message I sent through the v0 feedback form and to Vercel’s customer support. I’d like to know if this is happening to you as well. These are projects created using Supabase as the database and built with Next.js and TailwindCSS. Text:

Hello. I’m really enjoying AI v0 — it’s very intelligent and is able to build applications very well. But the problem is that when it tries to fix errors, it often rewrites everything while trying to correct the issue, losing the design, layout, and page features. And that’s frustrating. A single fix can cause the site to lose functionality, forcing the user to retest the entire site after each correction.

These fixes are triggered either during Deploy when an error is found in the LOG, or manually by clicking “Fix with V0” on the page. To prevent this from happening, I have to copy and paste the error message that appears on the screen into the prompt — without clicking “Fix with V0” — along with a description, to avoid losing features of the site.

Today, I lost all my credits trying to fix a simple date filtering error with the AI. From version 78 to version 90 of my actual project, the AI was not able to fix my issue. I gave up on building a very robust personal dashboard last month because of this. Everything was going fine, but as I started fixing errors and asking the AI to apply upgrades, it began rewriting other parts of the site and removing features. Sometimes it would even change the page design unnecessarily — even oversimplifying elements that I never asked to be changed.

And when I click on “Billing and Usage” in V0, the usage and credit information doesn’t load. How can I know what I spent and how I spent it if the information doesn’t show up? Could you help me with all these issues? Thank you!

Screenshots of Credits area not working, attached.

Commentary: I don’t think the new credit-based plan is what’s causing the fixing issues — that was already happening before. But now, it’s even more frustrating to try fixing something and end up spending credits without actually getting it fixed, even with a large button “Fix with v0 AI” not doing that.

Did you know there’s another category dedicated to v0 topics? A human should be here soon to help, but the answer may already be available even faster in one of these other posts.
