Cuellarirobert for a little more details, what i'm looking to do is be able to see the code base where i can lock specific files. i don't know the interface to get it to load and view.
RB not in the top right of window in "code" next to "preview"? sometimes that vanishes tho and you need to delete some of your chat history to get back to where it has all the code again.
Pauline P. Narvas Hey, Deen! Welcome to the Vercel Community. Thanks for sharing your experience! This is helpful feedback for us to share with the v0 team as we continue to make our product better. Have you tried forking the chat? community.vercel.com/t/become-a-v0-expert/5981#p-20016-using-version-control-in-v0-4
Deen Hi Pauline, thank you for your response. I even can't reach that point because the chat isn't opening at all. Loading of the chat goes into endless loop. Other old chats open with no issues.
Deen Hi it works now! I didn't do anything and waited. The chat is working now again. I immediatly downloaded latest updates and forked the chat. I guess the Devs fixed something on the weekend 😃
RB I locked files so it wouldn't change them, And then it tried to change the locked files, but couldn't and asked me to unlock the files so it can make changes when the files unlock. then when I unlocked the file it implemented some queued up changes and broke the app instantly. noice
Kevinkellyrpeq 8757 Thanks for the feedback. I also implemented STNs = Screen Tracking Numbers so that I can tell it exactly what screen to update. I.e. Update STN:L1S1:R1 Level 1 Screen, Screen Number at that Level, Revision 1 so that it only changes that part of the code for that specific screen. Not a bad practice to keep now. I implemented a full screen map to track this like an Org Chart Tree with drop down buttons so I can track everything.. Slightly OCD but very easy to update and track.
RB Great idea. I just made a post about how I get it to make implementation plans and think about them a bit about how it might break stuff. It seems to reduce errors quite a bit.
Pauline P. Narvas Hey, Danny! Welcome to the Vercel Community. In case you missed it, we have this response from the v0 team on pricing updates: community.vercel.com/t/updated-v0-pricing/10612/159 Let us know if you have any questions or additional feedback!
Dannyaustin 8526 My advice would be to stick with the crowd. I'm cancelling my V0 subscription and moving to Anthropic. There is a huge importance for the user to be able to predict how much a service will cost and to have the piece of mind that if they need it, the service will be there to back them up without an open-ended cost. Due to this change, this is no longer the case for V0. To be clear, uncertainty is the single reason that I'm moving away from this service. The product is fantastic, but I cannot reconcile the variable cost. Obviously this won't be changing as you've stated clearly, but hopefully my
Pauline P. Narvas Hi, Audrey! Welcome to the Vercel Community. I'm sorry to hear that this has been your experience. Can you share any chat links with us to share with the team? We're constantly trying to improve the product so any extra examples is appreciated. 😃
Audrey 7202 Hi Paulina, Here is the link to my chat: v0.dev/chat/upfrom-admin-portal-cad8pgrHvvX . Are you able to process a refund for my v0 membership? I spent $15/20 on requesting the same thing over and over with no change and then later when I swithced the larger model, having my project change entirely in ways I never requested and totally erased the progress I had made while on the free version. Audrey
chrisbailey87 Doing some more troubleshooting, I went back to my very first V zero chat which is a one-page modual. I gave it definitive prompts and code to implement and as you can see in the screenshot it says it implementing everything, even says it was updating all of the relevant files. You can see that what it says it did is definitely not on the screen. This single page styling update prompt took almost 8 minutes and charged me over 50 cents (I also have the video recording for this). This happens to every single chat I give text prompts to regarding styling. The only way to produce different results
Pauline P. Narvas Hey, Chris! Thanks again for sharing such detailed feedback. The video was also super helpful, we'll share this with the v0 team as they continue to make improvements to the product. Have you seen some of our v0 community content? Might be helpful. I really like Bernd's post here: community.vercel.com/t/a-developers-v0-veteran-guide/12127 Could you also share some prompt examples?
Seb I played around with it even more and no luck.... Only worked once in the beginning and even then it caused issues by going into all the files it shouldn't and modifying them using up credits. Going to avoid the API for now as it seems to still be really early in testing and I have to pay for it... I'll continue using the web based generator and just copy things over I guess.
ses I ve been having the same issues. Just found out a great solution. Install cline as an extension in cursor and use vercel api through it. Works like a charm. Cheers!
Pauline P. Narvas @168group Thank you for sharing your thoughts here! Have you had the chance to take a look at what @eselah-2003 suggested?
Graillabxyz Just used $30 more in credits on one syntax error. Trying to fix a stray \ in the code that I can clearly see. I am confused why I cannot get v0 to properly fix this. About to give up. Just manually fixed it so I can continue with development. Just confusing that it is so overcomplicated so often with simple things.
Perze Ababa I have a similar problem, and all I asked V0 to do was integrate Vercel's speed insights into my app. Nine prompts later, I still receive the same errors from the prompt that the issues started with, and now all my credits for the month are exhausted. 00:54:42.324Z Unhandled promise rejection: Error: Unable to resolve specifier '@v0/hooks/use-progress' imported from blob:kzmpydsveo8e4kb5wajv.lite.vusercontent.net/9fcf0671-ebb8-4790-b37a-929c0c8104c1 🤷♂️
Graillabxyz Manually fixed the file but still having this infinite loop of compile problems due to syntax errors. Maddening
Anshuman Bhardwaj Hi @luckymancvp, welcome to the Vercel Community! I'm not sure if I understand your issue correctly. Yes, each chat has it's own source code. Can you explain a bit more about your use case?
Mine That I have the same issue, I am on version 75 of my app and would envisage being on 250+ before I get something workable. Why would another chat not being using the same project code like Cursor, Windsurf etc. Surely there is an option for this and we are just missing something.
Luckymancvp Thanks for some help . i can resolve this problem by click 'fork' button on top right corner
Anshuman Bhardwaj Hi @alteredcarbon, I'm sorry that you are facing this issue. Can you share the chat ID and a recording of your issue so we understand what exactly is happening?
Alteredcarbon Hi! Thank you so much! here is the link v0.dev/chat/BkyLA3SriRQ I cannot get the orders from my deployed website to go to the email I have setup with emailJS. I am really stuck. I will ask about the 3d model later if that is okay and I will send a video. Thank you!!!!
Anshuman Bhardwaj Thanks for writing such a detailed use case. I've forwarded this feedback to our v0 team. You can already access v0-1.5-md model using the API. We've it on our documentation. Let me know if you face any issues.
William Not in Cursor: According to vercel.com/docs/v0/cursor, we are still stuck with v0-1.0 there.
