Pricing , Plans and Tiers

Hi,

quick feedback, don´t know if it does make sense business wise from your perspective, I am currently on the free tier, which I love and would like to upgrade but the pro tier is unfortunately too much for my type of projects and I would love to see a tier inbetween like 5, or 9 USD (or both). Don´t knwow the demand for this, just to let you know.

@carstenheisterkamp I work on pricing at Vercel. A couple questions:

  1. What type of projects are you working on?
  2. Can you describe what you’d want in this middle tier? If it were simply Pro features with the same infrastructure allocations as Hobby, would that be what you’re looking for?

@anshumanb I am a freelance developer working on a mix of next and nuxt projects as a creative coder for my own projects but also in the educational and cultural sector eg. as a lecturer or for events, museums and exhibitions. I am already happy with the hobby tier features and simply would like to try out the pro features to check out the difference and pro feature. If I understandit correctly the pro plan is a yearly plan and this is a bit to much to checkout the features. Since I dont know the features in Detail I could imagine something like

5x more included infrastructure usage
A subset of Observability tools
n time faster builds
Cold start prevention
Subset of advanced WAF Protection
Community support or limited email support

as an idea.

Hi @carstenheisterkamp, I understand your concern. There’s no need to commit to an yearly billing, we do have a trial period for the Pro plan and also you can choose to pay monthly.

No worries. As you can see, there’s a free trial followed by a $20/month subscription that you can cancel anytime if you don’t feel like continuing.

Ah, now I see the reason. Since I am logged in I only see the upgrade, not the trial.

Why didn’t I think of this earlier…
So upgrade now would start the trial too?

Hi @carstenheisterkamp, I feel you. I also fell for it the first time and then tried in private browser window.

Yes, you should try upgrading. It might be that you’ve already taken the trial so the trial may not be available but otherwise you will see a trial when completing the checkout.
