Can unused v0 credits be converted to AI Gateway credits?

I currently have around $77 in unused v0 credits. I do not think I will use v0 directly much going forward, but I would like to use Vercel AI Gateway for coding-agent workflows such as OpenCode or Claude Code.

I checked the CLI documentation and noticed that credits seem to be separated by type:

  • v0

  • gateway

  • agent

So I assume v0 credits and AI Gateway credits are not the same balance. I also saw some community posts suggesting that credit transfers may not be possible once credits are purchased.

Could someone confirm the following?

  1. Is it possible to convert or reissue unused v0 credits as AI Gateway credits?

  2. If conversion is not possible, can I request a refund or billing adjustment for the unused v0 credits?

  3. If neither conversion nor refund is possible, is there any way to spend my remaining v0 credits without maintaining an active Vercel Pro / v0 Premium / Team subscription?

  4. Can v0 credits be used through the v0 Platform API after downgrading, or does API usage also require an active Premium or Team plan?

  5. Are purchased v0 credits still usable on a Free account, or are they effectively locked unless I keep a paid v0 subscription active?

I am mainly trying to avoid a situation where I have unused credits but cannot spend them unless I subscribe again.

Any clarification from the Vercel team or users who have dealt with a similar case would be appreciated.
